zOMG, what a busy week lies ahead of me! Three very intensive studio nights, that’s for sure, starting tomorrow. And wouldn’t it be nice if I could persuade the sequencer to do what I ask it to do! Plus setting up some pyro would be kewl as well – guess I don’t have to be afraid to get bored anytime soon. Haha!

Anyway, the show should show up in the Event Listing soon and just in case anyone might stumble across the Rastafairy Beach blog, I listed it there as well. So as the deadline is firmly set, I´m firing up the engines.

Let’s face it: would every studio session be a smooth one, there is no progress. And how boring that would be! So last night, when I had this nasty neck pain that spread over my entire upper back, I only managed to get into the realm of sounds and assorted madness for about an hour. After that I was tired and went to bed, where I lay feeling sorry for myself for a while before falling asleep.

But then, as I woke up this morning, I realised I had learned a lot – it is, after all, very good to know the borders of what’s humanly (or better said: hexxly) possible. And last but not least: I treated my acoustic baby (a Fenix SL-90, by the way) to a brand new set of strings and a comforting oil rub!

Yes, that’s right. The Born Again Pagans will soon be doing their thing in SL, and I will try and squeeze us some pyro in as well. Getting a display together miserably failed last night because of mysterious scripting issues, but that was probably one of those renowned Linden quirks.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the rehearsals in the Coolsounds & Magick Studios go ever so smoothly so we might very well be ready to set the Pyramid on fire at an earlier date (had originally planned it on April Fool’s Day, as you know), but we decided this morning that a Saturday would be more convenient. This way, our brothers and sisters from the US of A might be able to catch the show as well.

So April 5, 2008, 1 PM PDT it is! That’s 10 PM for us Europeans, folks – but rest assured I will spam the gig again before that date. If only because I’ll probably be a nervous wreck by that time, ghehe.

Honduras Mahogany neck, Rosewood Fingerboard, Honduras Mahogany Body with Cream Binding, 16 ” fingerboard radius, 24 3/4″ Scale, 1 11/16″ nut width, 2x Godin Nitro Humbuckers, 5-way switch (1x volume, 1x tone) and a Schaller Bridge: meet my Godin LG HB after the fold.

They only did one paintjob like this, BTW. Now ain’t that something! Oh, and ‘Godin’ happens to be the Dutch word for ‘ghoddess’ – do I smell some of ye olde cozmic balance thingie here?

With a couple of master tracks laid down now (including a nifty little loop, yesterday, BTW), I’ve decided the time has come to work out some ideas involving live layers of guitars, synths and assorted madness. Looking forward to that and the best of all: got lotsa free days coming up, with the Easter weekend and all. Getting there, getting there, getting there – huzzah!

And man, do I joyfully send out a major YAY to the blessing in disguise that the malfunctioning central heating has brought me! Coz’ now I’m confined to the house to wait for the repairmen, who have promised to show up ‘somewhere between 8 AM and 5 PM’. Which means I can’t go to that shitty job of mine today.

I say w00t and am pretty sure I’ll get through this ordeal. After all, studio time is Quality Time, and banging them strings and synths will surely keep me nice and warm.

Finished the groundwork of yet another master track yesterday, so there’s good hopes we’re gonna pull it off on April Fool’s Day, this try-out in the Greenhouse at the Beach! Gotta admit it’s a pity that an evening’s only got a few hours, though – could use a lot more of those, that’s for sure.

Ah well. The gear works like a charm, hardware and software alike. That’s what matters, after all, it means there’s no holding back because of nasty machinery glitches and quirks. Gonna work on the first Sasquatch sermon today, with music and all. Doncha just love it when a plan comes together?
