The loopmachine is one of the miracles of modern day technology. It records musical phrases and repeats them as long as one wants, also (and that makes it ever so kewl) in layers. With a loopmachine, it’s a piece of cake to create a tune with a couple of instruments without using backing tracks.

Now the second knob from the right, at the top, is where the microphone goes in. Mics are great for percussion, non-electrical instruments and (of course) backing vocals. The only thing is, this mic input produces a very faint sound (a bit like a transistor radio).  So the object was, to be able to crank the mic up a bit before the sound goes into the machine to be looped.

And that’s where this little mixer comes in real handy! The microphone goes in the socket at the upper left corner and we’re all set! Live and direct from the Coulsounds & Magick Studios in Amsterdam, The Neverlands!

Remind me to take a picture of the setup in there, one of these days. It’s always nice to have an idea of what it looks like, that place where it’s all coming from, now ain’t it?
